Sump and Refugium design

Hello,

I am replacing the old sump that came with my tank with two 40 breeders. My plan is to use one for my refugium and one for my skimmer and return pump. My question is in what order should i have everything? Inlet, refugium, skimmer then return? Or does the order matter?

In my research it is recommended for 75% go into sump then to skimmer then to return , 25% into refugium then to return having unfiltered water into refugium.
