one of the issues I had when I first made my sump is I had to increase the space I had at the filter socks due to the fragility of the acrylic when I was drilling it. once I added 1/4" on each side it worked out great. the first modification I aded 1/8" either side, so it took 3 tries to get that piece done without cracking it.

For what you want to do, you really only need a baffle for the last chamber before the return pump and the divider between your two halves.

Something like this.

I wouldn't put a baffle between the skimmer and the fuge. Algae isn't bothered by bubbles. If you have the space between the skimmer top and the bottom of the tank stand, I would put the skimmer on a shelf or stand to get the correct water height.

In fact, I did exactly that on my current sump.

For the material, I would use glass for everything with the exception of the filter sock holder. A 4" diamond hole saw is going to cost a lot more than using acrylic for those holes. It's also not critical for the strength of the sump or leaks.

Thanks for the help. True sump quite complicated if we dont plan well.the worst part is the filter sock part . It's like the main area for cleaning.
