I purchased a baffle kit for my 40b sump and am working on locations for the baffles.
I understand that the return pump section needs to be large enough to hold water to cover the return pump as well as all the water that drains when the pump is turned off — from the overflow (above the standpipe), the plumbing and any reverse syphoned water until the syphon break.
However, when the pump is turned off, is it normal for the water levels to be higher than the baffles? Or is this something to avoid.
