Can you make normal sump baffles to trap air bubbles but drill holes in the baffles to allow your heater to heat the whole sump without disrupting the water flow?

w
hy would you need to drill holes for the heater to heat all your water Its constantly flowing ?

Just place heaters in an area of sump that has most flow.
It's all about the water moving across the surface of the heater

I have mine in the compartment where the water comes back from tank

Return pump area would work also

My htrs are in with the skimmer more stable amount of water doesnt change depth no risk of htr being exposed

Can you post a photo odf that please?

3 heaters? What size tank do you have?
150 with a 55 gallon sump... there's actually a 4th heater (300 watts each) in the drain to the sump... tank is in the basement level of a raised ranch... it's always pretty cool down there... also i would rather use several smaller heaters rather than one large heater as a failsafe (had that experience with one of my freshwater tanks several years ago)
