So I have a 15 gallon Display and a 10 gallon sump I am starting my conversion to the triton method so I would like to know if I need to remove a baffle or not. So my first chamber was where my filter sock and skimmer was, now the skimmer in in the second chamber and the filter sock is removed. I have added a light and some chaeto to the first chamber. The first chamber is followed by a set of 3 baffles which opened at the bottom top then bottom. This kept the organics on the top of the water in the first chamber because it wasnt skimmed and stopped microbubbles.

I have a few thoughts about this and I was looking for some input.

Should I remove the first baffle so the first chamber skims off to the second chamber with my skimmer?

Should I leave the baffles the way they are because it helps keep the bottom of the first chamber clean and moves some of the detritus to the second chamber where I can easily remove it?

Should I remve the first baffle to help capture most detritus in the first chamber with the chaeto?

Here is my sump after the swap over. Dont worry about the o-ring I dropped in there.
