Sump Choices

Bashsea sumps look awesome and are well made! We have a new sponsor here on reef2reef Crystal Reef Aquatics that have large "off the shelf" sumps. I have no experience with them, but am looking hard at purchasing their 60" sump. It's 6" bigger front to back than a bashsea non custom sump, which adds over 20 gallons. Hard to pull the trigger with few reviews (it's a new design series from them) but they look awesome!

You have to decide how much you're willing to spend and kinda the features you would like. For my 250 gallon system those are the ones I'm looking at. Not a huge number of non custom sumps in this size range.

At the same time a rubbermaid stock tank or a large aquarium with some diy could serve basically the same purpose. It's very much personal preference and budget when it comes to picking a sump!

I was going to suggest Elite-Aquatics, but I notice their web site is no longer up. I think he may be supplying places like Marine Depot and others vendors with sumps now. Tyler does excellent work and may still do custom builds. I have one of his sumps.

His Facebook page is still active and it looks like he is still doing custom builds. Might contact him there.

Elite-Aquatics Facebook for loads of pics of his custom builds

This is the one he built for me.

+1 on Elite Aquatics - Price is competitive and Quality is top notch

Have a look at my build thread for a custom 48" sump for my 150 gallon.

I like showing off the working side of my aquarium as much as the front. Synergy Reef makes great looking sumps. This is my on my latest build
