So we are going to add a 180 reef on the other side of this basement closet. This closet is in our “storage/furnace” room. This space is a blank space and I want to use it for the sump and quarantine tank. If this was your space what would you do? Number of outlets? Lighting? Waterproofing walls? Venting? I am in the planning stage and would like ideas.

I'd put in dedicated 20 amp circuit for both this and the tank if it's on other side of same wall. Two or three waist/chest high outlets would be ok (GFCI), but definitely wall mount some distribution board.

I'd put a grate maybe 6-8" off the floor so you can reach under for spill clean up and make draining tanks easier.

Might run a house plumbing drain over from the washer dryer if possible, might not need to.

Would remove the tile if it's not sheet tile and paint concrete. If it's sheet I'd just seal the edges. Get really fancy, put a lip in front to contain spills or a drip pan.

Definitely would set something up to support both manual and automatic water changes easy with twist of few valves
