So...
I found a really good deal ($300) on a brand new ASM G6 skimmer. The only issue is that my current sump design only allows for a skimmer which is 16"x16". This is 18"x19". My idea is to take my current sump, and then add a 50 gallon tank (footprint 36"x19") to the end before my return pump and add the skimmer in there. What you you think?

Hi there,
Only concerns I identify would be for the water level that you must be careful to be enough for the skimmer and probably some micro bubble that you could solve with a baffle.

Yes. The skimmer would be away from the return pump and I would also Use a baffle
