The only reason I say this way is because after socks and skimmer, you have removed a bunch of nutrients that the fuge can use. But I do agree with what you said

I agree, especially if you have things in your fuge that eat detritus (clean up crew members, etc.). If you're just running chaeto though, you only really care about dissolved nutrients---and perhaps microscopic phytoplankton, etc. (that will get through socks and some will escape the skimmer) to feed pods in the fuge.
