I purchased a scratch and ding Triton 44 (I want a 15 gal+ fuge) that arrived freight damaged, as did its replacement (yay UPS!). I have not had a response from trigger in over a week and I have been looking into other options due to sales this weekend. I came across the Bashsea Smart 3618 which has the large fuge that I want but in a more compact footprint.
While I do not want to spend the extra money, are there benefits to having a shorter sump? Is a deeper fuge better or worse? Also, is the Bashsea worth the extra? I plan to have a 5' tank and will have a 2' opening in the middle of the stand for sump access.
Size comparison - Trigger is first:
Overall: 44x16x15 vs 36x18x16
Fuge: 23x15.5x11.5 vs 17x17.5x14
