Sump / equipment layout question(s)

Hi

I designed my sump for specific equipment, which have been replaced, so the chambers are no longer able to fit the equipment I'd like to add.
Since I cannot move the sump, moving the baffles will not be an easy task.
So, I came up with this (crazy?) solution.
I hope my sketch makes sense, if not please just ask.

Top is current setup, bottom what I was thinking might work:

Does it make sense, and anything that could mean problems in the long run?

Nutrients isn't an issue, quite the opposite for some reason, which is why I want to reinstall the roller filter.
