One question that jumps out (maybe I missed it in your description) - what is the size of your main tank that the sump and refugium will be supporting?

No, I'm sorry I forgot. The tank will be 75, so the sump may need to go up a size.

Have you considered going with a already drilled tank, or maybe drilling it yourself?
There is a diy eshoops overflow kit that makes it real easy and has a pretty nice overflow.

Your sump can't really be "too small." I've been using a 10 gallon sump for a 40 gallon tank. Just bought a new 75 gallon display tank and a 29 gallon sump to go with it. Your sump can be as small as you want it to be as long as all your equipment fits in it.

Large sump acceptable.
A reef ready drilled tank will be much easier to utilize with sump, not that other concept does not work

I can look into a pre-drilled tank. My dad refuses to have me or him drill tanks.
