I have a 430 system with a 75 gallon sump. My sump flow is around 1500 gallon per hour. The water column is always filled with all kinds of floating things. They are not bubbles but different particles. I’m considering getting the synergy reef cl60 and upping the flow to about 3000 gallons per hour into the sump with 7 inch socks. My thought process is that the higher flow will pull more of the particles out to get filtered and maybe I will get less of them in the tank. I need some advice with anyone that has had same issues or has a large system as to how much your turnover is and how is your water clarity. Thanks to all.

How do you have your water movers in relation to the overflow? If the particles aren't making it to the surface they will just get blown around until they get stuck in the rock or a dead area in the tank. I fixed the issue in my DT by having two MP40s that sit on the bottom on the back glass and point forward. Everynight I shut off my two WAVs for about an hour and the two bottom pumps push everything up towards the surface where they are then filtered into the overflow. The speed at which the water is moving through your sump (unless it is incredibly slow) isn't going to have much of an impact on pulling particles into the overflow if your other pumps are just pushing everything away.

I have the same setup With bare bottom so there is no issue of anything sitting on the floor. Mostly it’s in the water column. Another idea I had was having a closed loop pump connecting to a filter I think that would catch a lot of stuff. Thanks for the input
