I’m in the process of setting up a Reefer 350 and the documentation doesn’t do a great job of telling you what to expect. I’ve been running a 29g biocube for a few years now but this seems pretty different.

Below is s video of my sumps waterflow right now. Does that seem like I have my pump set too high? I’m working with a Vortech S2 pump so I can dial it back if needed. Right it’s set at 50%.

Doesnt look bad to me. Flow is good.

I like to aim for ~5x through my sump, so for your tank I'd shoot for no more than 450gph. Although more circulation in the DT is almost always a good thing, you are better served by using power heads to achieve your in-tank flow.

You can get rid of most of the bubbles by using a PVC "T" fitting in the drain lines placed so that the leg of the T is just above the waters surface in the sump. That allows most of the air to escape before it inters the water.

Thanks! I think I’m going to replacer the Red Sea hate valve already, so adding a T would be good timing.

I do have 2 MP40’s for DY flow, I just wasn’t sure how much turnover I need through the sump. The Vortech S2 pump is a bit overkill since I’m not powering a manifold but I figured I could dial it back.

That flow looks fine. I run a Jeboa DCT-4000 at 100% for my RSR 250 and get similar flow to you. My sump inlet chamber is full of Marine Pure balls and I don’t see any significant amount of bubbles so you may want to do something similar. Mine are for biological filtration, not bubble control, but they may help with that also. In any case your filter socks should clean up any bubbles that are produced.
