I have an Eshopps sump (ADV 200). It was the size I needed for the stand and it had a refugium.

What I have noticed...
There is a tray in the back right corner. Not sure any water goes over the tray. I don't really use this section but I throw a carbon bag on the tray and run my gfo reactor output over it.

The suggested water level in the return was too low for my liking so I raised it with my own float valve. The curve 5 skimmer needed a higher water level too.

What I have ran into is stagnant water in my return and the skimmer compartment. I am running small power heads in those compartments to keep it moving but I hate that I have to do this.

I could see about increasing the gph to the tank to increase the flow through the sump...

Anyone run I to this before? Suggestions?

Thanks

How is your flow set up. Do the baffles decrease in height from the overflow side to the return side?

Here is a pic. Water comes into the refugium from slits under the chaeto. And then runs through a baffle to the return chamber. Not sure if the design is flawed, running water too high in the sump, or not enough flow through the sump.

Just realized in is the 100 model not the 200.

After looking at some videos online, I think the return flow is not high enough. The return flow should back up into the filter chamber and split off to the filter sock and the drip tray on the right. I don't get anything going to the drip tray. Not looking for a lot of flow in the sump but might need a little more.
