Ok looking for ppl who have experience with sumps for cube shaped tanks. I’m trying to find one without spend money on trigger systems and all those fancy sumps. I need one to fit a 24x24 stand. Any pics and diagrams are appreciated. I might go with baffling a 20g tank but if I can go bigger and fit in the stand that’s a plus.

If you're going with a cube stand then the ruby 20 sump is probably the best option or one of. When I bought my 60 cube setup I quickly realized making a sump/fuge was extremely limited with the inner stand dimensions being under 24". If you go with a more custom stand then you open up your options.

This makes a lot of sense. I was just hoping to not dish out that chunk of change for a sump. Hoping to see some alternatives that others have come up with.

That is a big chunk of change for a small sump. If you are doing this build slow then honestly you can't go wrong with customizing the stand to fit your needs. But then you are spending more money to custom build a stand then you would have going the standard route. I don't think there is a cheap way around this.
Also the ruby 20 cube has to be installed in the stand before you drop the tank on top. Another huge pita.

Well this tank is already set up. I have a small 10g eshopps sump under there but no room for fuge so I’m upgrading.

Measure the width of the door so you know what size sump you can even fit in there. If the 10 gallon will even fit coming out.

Another option if feasible having smaller stands on the side of the tank that would fit and conceal a sump setup. My reactor wouldn't fit in my stand or my apex so that was how I managed. Plus the wife wanted them lol

Yeah true. Didn’t think about the door. I know the 10g comes out pretty easily. A standard baffled tank the only way to go?

If you have the same stand as me then my door opening is only 12 7/8". Very limiting with it also only being around 22" x 22" inside the cabinet. I'd either make that 10 gallon work or have a custom sump made

Well I wanted to have a fuge and the 10 is too small

Could take your idea of baffling a 20g a little further and build your own sump. I had mine custom built and it cost me an arm and a leg... and then my other arm. For a fuge I hung mine from the top of my cabinet, it's only 4 Gal but roughly 10% of my system so a good size.
