So i have an all acrylic sump with baffles that i just bought from someone that i want to touch up....it seems that there are a couple of small leaks between the baffles and i want to touch it up with glue or a type of silicone that is reef safe....i have read alot about weldon being the best for acrylic to acrylic...what do you guys think or suggest?? I read #4 is very thin and drys very fast...i would like something thicker like silicone that i could put a thick bead over the existing glue but not sure what to use??

Thanks for the help!

You should use the thicker version of weldon... #4 is the really runny stuff and really isn't suited for this application, weldon #16 is perfect!

Thanks!!

I guess i tougher question is what local stores carry it? LOL no Home Depot, Lowes, 2 local hardware stores, Walmart, Target...None!! Sucks...looks like online might be the only way....

I was told to gap fill with acrylic that you should use something called e6600.

I've used #16 to reattach euro-bracing, fill gaps, fix CaRx with cracks (and literally small holes), etc.

Stuff works like a champ - think of it as liquid acrylic.

if you have a gap the 16 wont fill you can make fine scrapeings or cut with table saw to make saw dust from a scrap piece mix with 16 to make it thick enough to fill it

e6000 sounds good...and i think i can get it at Michaels for cheap....anyone else use this or know if it is Reef Safe???

Nevermind.....
