Ok we had a sump in storage and took it to a shop, we them decided we wanted to use it and as sods law goes, it sold that morning!
totally gutted now and my OH has decided he wants to make one, hes going to have it 2x1x1, either with a weir or without.
But its the first time hes going to have worked with a sump and we've got a few questions.
Well first of all, could any one you who use a sump please post some pictures up of yours and explain what is in it
I'd also like a layout of a sump and what goes where basically inside it.
and last of all, he would like to know How you get that balance between what is syphoning and what is pumping out.
What stops it overflowing?
We're thinking we want something thats going to tackle nitrates as that is the problem we are having right now with our tank.
We've purchased CHEATO and also thinking live rock peices to go in and also maybe some of that marine mud/live sand stuff that goes in the bottom, we were told its good stuff for filtration and tackling nitrates....any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
