Just started up my first sump and I can say I had a mini heart attack. Turned it on, the noise I thought all the water was going over the floor.

It’s very noisy, and I know there is meant to be some noise but I’m trying to make it as quiet as possible. The main noise is coming from the outlet pipe from the tank to the sump. I’ve been messing about with the ball valve under the outlet pipe and the wattage of the return pump. I have a jebao DC 8000 if I close the valve by like 50/60% and leave the pump running at 10 watts it’s near silent. Is that enough flow for the sump .?
The tank is 550L and sump around 100 or so
Someone help :(

In my 120 my pump is throttled back 50+%.
I run 200-250gph through the sump.
Yours is fine and I do not see any reason to go higher, although many do.

I don’t even know what I’ve done with the pump I literally put the value down alllllll the way to the last one then went one up. I felt the intake and outtake flow it’s verry slow is that okay?

That number is how much power your pump is drawing. If you turn it up it goes faster and uses more electricity.
Turning up the flow may not be needed. The only way to tell gph is to put the flow into a container and measure it.
Mine feels very weak also but I like to run 2-3× turnover in my sump.
