I have to order a new sump for my new setup I am starting. I have a 48x2418 and it's just way too big and barely squeezes into the stand. The tank will be 72x28x22. Im looking for ideas on how it should designed. It will also have a fuge section.

A little more detail would be helpful here. Is your DT already drilled? Drilled in the corner, drilled in the back? You plan on putting your sump underneath, are there any braces in the way? Are you planning on running a skimmer? Reactors? Etc?

I've seen people take 2 smaller tanks and plumb them together to get more to fit underneath. Another thing you could do is mock up the size of your sump with some cardboard and see what you can fit under your tank, so you know what you order is going to fit. Just an idea.

Do you plan on buying an acrylic sump or making your own?

All these details will greatly help people suggest ideas for your sump. :)

Look at the trigger systems sumps. I just recieved mine for a 40 Breeder build im doing and i can honestly say that im very pleased with the quality and design of their sumps. They have lot's of different sizes and fuge sections in their sumps.
