hey all,

finally getting around to insulating my sump which is 2 floors below the tank in the basement. COLD here in PA so I'm wasting a lot of juice keeping it warm down there. I put the pink panther 1.5" board around the sides of the sump (it's a 30L up on cinderblocks- won't be able to get under it, but it's off the basement floor).

Question: I was planning to replace my warped plexiglass tops I made to fit atop the sump with the pink panther stuff. It seems very water repellent and my assumption is that because it's so hydrophobic it wouldn't leach anything of significance into tank when the evaporated water drips back from the top into the sump. But.. I'm not sure and wanted to see if anyone knows about this?

Thanks

thanks for that. Not sure what to make of what it means practically-- I suppose it means what it says, that small amounts of nasty stuff will be released from it over time. I supposed for now I'll just put it on top of the existing plexiglass and try to tankwater contact. That said, with the epoxy putty and other plastic fittings in they system, I'm sure there are chemicals released anyway...

thanks
