Hello all, I have the chance to get a Marineland 65 gallon reef ready tank for cheap that needs to be resealed and cleaned up. I have never done a sump before but was thinking of using a 29 gallon tank in the stand and putting power filters, heaters and a protein skimmer in that. Would that work. I was planning on using either a combination of Aquaclear 70 power filters or use 1 Aquaclear 110 power filter. I would have a separate return pump. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You didn't mention a refugium so I don't think your sump really needs to be anything fancy, it should be fine IMO
