I wanted to save a lot of money, and a project so I made my own sump out of a 20 gallon long. I ordered the glass baffles, and I siliconed them with aquarium safe silicone. It is a sump with a filter sock/skimmer section, refugium, and return pump. Today I tested it with water. The first baffle works fine, but the bubble trap between the refugium and the return pump has small, but noticeable leaks. My question is, should I make sure the leaks are fixed, or is there really nothing to worry about?

My 55g sump leaks like sieve. However, with the amount of flow I have going through it you would never know except when I turn my return pump off for maintenance.

My feeling is that as long as you feel the plates will stay in place, I wouldn't worry about small leaks.

Ok thank you so much! The plates definitely won't move.
