Hello
I have a 75 gallon tank with about a 30 gallon sump . To be honest it has been nothing but frustration for a year and a half . But the latest problem is the sump water level. It has been fine for the last year and a half now the return pump basically sucks it dry , then it fills back up when you turn it off , then you turn it on and it sucks it dry . The pump it's self is about 6 months old and it worked fine until about 3 weeks ago . Nothing else had changed ,any ideals on why this is happening and how to fix it ?
Thanks
Mike

It sounds like you are low on water. Do you have an ATO? did you recently do a water change? Did you take water out of any reason? Is it a DC or AC pump?

Hello
No I don't have a ATO, I add water every evening . I can keep adding water and it will fill the tank so full it over flows the top . It's a Triton 5 pump

It is a pretty drilled tank , it has one down glow pipe , , I can see the water coming out of it it looks fine but I'll clean it and see
Thsnks

Sounds like a clogged drain pipe to me as well.

Also check and clean any prefilter sponges you may have on you down flow pipe
