Hi,

Would like to know what kind of light you use to light a triton refugium. I was thinking of Finnex planted 24/7 which is raved about in planted freshwater community or a DIY kit of 2 T5HO bulbs..

But would like to know what the experienced users use ?

Regards,
Abhishek

I have the dimmable version of the anirban linked on my Algae Turf Scrubber for a couple of years now at just 40% intensity. Works quite well. Grows green algae better than 3K T5s.

However, true Triton method wants you to have a full spectrum with lots of macro algae variety. The greenhouse one is good for green algaes but not for a wide range.

So if sticking with True Triton method, I would not recommend it.

The Mars kicks butt. It's full spectrum.

But of course cheato will outgrow any other algae regardless.

So I'm soon going to build a simple partition in my fuge probably using eggcrate so I can have like 2/3 cheato and 1/3 other macros.
The Mars grows them all! :)
