I would like to add some led lighting just to see inside the sump. The overhead lighting is not enough and the blue /purple lighting from the kessil H380 grow light does not help. There is a inside lip on the top of the 120 gal sump and possibly would like to add some type of white waterproof led strip just to see what is going on in there. Or maybe a type of focused light on the ceiling that I can direct into the sump. Any suggestions?

Ascetics or beneficial lighting for various organisms.
Ascetics benefit viewer(s) and might not benefit anything other than vanity.
Various lights made for dependent/organisms and your sump becomes a refugium.
If I may, you'll have to decide whether one or other and/or both are desirable.

Place on upper trim of stand. Did the same in my frag tank. However. I never use it now. Lol. Always under sump in day

If timing may be desirable there are plenty of LED plant lights at Amazon.
I use a pair of LED lights utilizing timers built into controller/on and off switch for house plants and trees. In addition light spectrum can be adjusted.
"WEDCOL Grow Lights for Indoor Plants Red Blue Spectrum Plant Grow Light Adjustable Gooseneck 135 LED Grow Lamp with 3/9/12H Timer, 10 Dimmable Levels & 3 Switch Modes" from Amazon for about 22 dollars.
Lights are not strip but flexible and include various mounting hardware to clip or stand.
Enjoy

I just did this on my new RedSea Reefer 625.

Found a simple LED strip on Amazon for about $7. It has a strong adhesive that sticks to the cabinet. Nothing fancy but it’s very bright and I’ve had zero problems.

The white led strip lights at Ikea work well and are pretty cheap. Get a reel of them and some heavy duty double stick tape or velcro tape.

Place what on upper trim? ...looking for product to use...Thanks
I just went on Amazon and typed in "led strip". I picked out one that was water resistant with adhesive on the back. I wiped down the upper part of the stand underneath with alcohol to get it clean for adhesion. Then I ran the led strip up there and plugged it in.

The led strip I bought was rgb, but it's used to light up sump area so I can see in there in case it's dark in the room and I have something to do under there. So I only use white light.

Hope this helps

I bought an LED Strip of White (6500K) lights and attached them to an IR sensor. Put the strip at the top of the cabinet, now whenever I open the cabinet doors, I have enough light to see what's going on; when the doors close, the lights go out. This was taken right after I got he tank and the lights installed.

I put a couple of these in my stand. Along with the IR sensor so when I close the doors, the lights go off. Great lights, and I can see everything in my sump without an issue.

I've used the "supposed" water proof strip LED's in the past. The salt corrodes them eventually. I've had these in use for 3 years now with 0 rust or corrosion.

The ones I have are encased in a gel substance, so they are not exposed. Also used the same type under kitchen cabinets. Love them
