I recently upgraded my sump to an Eshoppe's R-100. The dimensions are 24x12x16. I have a 72g tank which is 4 ft long and curved in the front. The sump will fit perfectly in my stand, but my tank is pretty well populated with fish, coral and live rock; and the sump cannot be maneuvered from the front or the back, only the top. So I had no choice at the time, but to set it up in the adjoining furnace room, behind a wall. Running all the plumbing through the wall. This affects my pump slightly, as the distance is much greater now (about 3-4 feet across and 4 feet up).
So what I want to know is should I hire someone to unload my tank, so I can get it off the stand and put the sump inside the stand, or work to shorten the distance of the sump (in the furnace room) to the tank.
