I am changing my Sump to a Trigger Platinum26 with automatic fleece roller. My question is on the return line, the connection to the pipe feeding the tank, I see most people make a U loop from the pipe from the pump to the Pipe feeding the tank. Is there a reason to make basically a loop( like a drip loop for electrical wire) on the return pipe?

I can't answer your question cuz I've never made a U loop unless I had to get around something to get to the bulkhead.
I just wanted to tell you, you did a great job on the setup. To bad it won't stay that clean for long.

Looks like he did it because he had to if you look at the pic the union is right behind the 90 so he couldn’t tie into it there

Looks like it might be a flow meter or some sort of value that needed to be placed so thus the U loop was needed.
