Elbow or no elbow joint? Since locline can bend? Just worried if locline snaps off it'll be water shooting straight!

What i meant was can I bypass the elbow joint or better to put elbow between locline and pvc ?

To avoid siphon i plan to have flare end tip pointed above water line...a bit.

Personally I suggest the PVC elbow going below the water line. Then use the locline. Drill a hole in the PVC just below the water line for siphon control. A locline flare above the water surface will cause a lot of noise. It may cause your overflow, depending on the type, to sound like a water fall if the surface is too agitated. At least this is what happens to me if my pumps agitate the surface too much.

Yep, elbow, small 1/4" hole just below water line...all good recommendations!

It is possible for the Locline end piece to be threaded (male) into a threaded (female) PVC piece, if you want to go that route.

Also, for what it’s worth, I go the ‘flared-end out of the water route’ into my DT, and am not bothered by any noise. Best wishes.

Does locline ever snap off easily or accidentally? I know it's hard when calcified.

Some lock line fits tighter than others the threaded adaptor I have pops off on the reg. Two down the line stuck as can be.

In line with the previous poster's comments, I have also seen some variability in how tight the connections are. I think part of it has to do with how many times the links have been taken apart as well as some slight difference in the parts.
