Sump Question.. See pictures

Where did you get this setup?

bought it on craigslist...this is how the person ran it when i got it,I wondering if it takes some time to build up a slimecoat on everything then it might be better but right now with the sock on it im not seeing that many bubbles..the sump has a name on it but cant find it on the web www.advanceacriylics.com has on it sticker

Right on. Looks like you have it setup properly. Did you have a sump before?

Yeah i had a regular(dorso) type 30g on my 75 but it ran right to left and i made the dividers in it.. worked great for a first time builder,Im just new to the herbie style..I like the fact that u heard absolutely nothing.

anything i put in the tank like i just rubberbanded a piece of seaweed to a rock then as soon as i drop it in alot of bubbles come up..

tested phosphates to and 1st time on the hanna i got 0.00 Im so happy

not heard but "hear"

Right on.. The next tank I build I might try the herbie style drain. My glass holes overflow has some noise, but my house is loud so the water flow sound is nice.

I hear yea.the loudest piece of equipment i can hear is the fan.gotta find a quieter one

even though the kids are loud and water dont bother me

Definitely would rather hear water draining than my two kids screaming.

oh i see that way the bubbles would have to come straight up rather then out into the water where it gets sucked up by the pump...great idea..
Exactly. And the water falling from the fuge would proly create a little whirlpool at the bottom of the trap area and hold the bubbles in that whirlpool while letting excess water go over the wall. Whatever you decide, good luck. Bubbles suck!!
