Sump question

Hello , i had my tank running for 6 month now i been checking my sump and i am having some slime in the top also notice something on the bottom is this normal ?? Thanks

Been today testing cleaning and doing water change , another question here , i have rock that i left outside in my garage for almost 8 month , it came with my 90 gal w i got it but i started my tank with dry rock , would it be safe to add some to my tank or better go and get more dry rock and add , I'm afraid of unwanted stuff to get in even this rock been dry for months ....

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're showing in the first two pics. What kind of slime? Is it a film on the surface of the water?
Depending on the amount of live rock in your current tank you might be able to just rinse this piece and put it in your tank. If there was anything live on/in it I think the eight months outside would have killed it. A quick rinse and scrub might be all you need.

if it has been out of your tank for 8 months your rock is dead and so is everything that was in it. Are you thinking that pest could still be alive in the rock?

Yes is like a slime on top , but i just saw my ro tank had some , took it out and clean it , *** of the rock i might add more

The slime could just be bacterial build-up. Are you carbon dosing? The rock should be fine, but all the dead stuff on it and in it might leech p04. It would probably be safer to place the rock in fresh saltwater, outside your main tank, let it sit for a few days then measure the p04 levels to make sure. Might as well measure ammonia and nitrate while you're at it too.

No , im not carbon dosin using chemi pure for now , so rock would be fine even with this stuff all over

All the dead stuff in the rock is going to rot and put nutrients into your water.

SantaMonica is correct. That's why I suggested soaking it in new saltwater for a few days then testing. You will likely need to cook/cure it for a few months.

Thanks , i didnt use it , i move some rocks arround .... Ill save it for another tank
