Welcome to R2R!

Yes, you are correct. However, you should do a bunch of research. You will also want a tank with a drain system. It all matters what you are trying to keep in the tank on how you may want to go about it and what type of sump you want.

The sumps would need to have plumbing purchased extra. The Trigger sumps all have a bulkhead to attach the end of the pipe to, but everything above that (pipes, elbows, unions, valves, etc.) is going to be specific to your tank build and so are not included.

Yup; the internal skimmers just get dropped into the sump. Some may need to be placed on a platform to raise them to the proper depth, but that won't require any plumbing. The only thing you might see added to these skimmers is tubing running from the air intake to somewhere with lower CO2 concentrations than inside the house (e.g.; outside). This is optional, however.

Thanks. That explains.

I'm only using it for a fish only system but it will have a heavy bioload with heavy feeding so it needs to be efficient.

Where would I buy the plumbing tubes and pumps? I'm not really tech savvy, but I assume, some kind of pump (placed in the sump) will pump the water into the tank from the sump and there is a tube connected to this pump, which leads into the tank. Then, there's a return tube that goes from the tank back to the sump.

BRS sells colored pipe & schedule 80 fittings but really Home Depot / Lowes, plumbing section has pvc pipe &/or flexible depending on how you want to plumb it.
