Sump question

I have a question before making a purchase. This sump seems like it is designed for a submersible return pump. Can I drill this chamber for an external pump? Also what size tank is recommended for the 36”?

I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to drill it, but it may void the warranty

I do believe that any sump fitted with an external pump would have to be drilled
