I have tried and failed to get macro algae to grow in my refugium. I have a led grow light good flow. So now I’m thinking of moving my protein skimmer to the center giving me more room to put skimmer sock. I’ve been doing without socks because of room. I have the led running on a timer and the refugium has algae growing on the glass. My water perimeters are good should I just leave things alone?

What are your nutrient levels? I struggled for a bit as well before I added more fish.

That’s what I was thinking. I only have two clowns, two blue Chromis, and a cleaner shrimp. My tank is 65 gallon with a 20 gallon sump. I just added a lawnmower blenny.

Yeah, that may not be enough to generate sufficient nutrients. There are products you can add to try to supplement it, if you want to see.

Probably not enough nutrients I added more fish and still didn’t see much of a rise I dose a food grade product to get detectable levels of PO4.
