Sump/refugium suggestions

I’m looking for suggestions for equipment, and how to stock my sump. Light suggestions for macro, any other mechanical filtration, if I should do plumbing different. Right now I have the protein skimmer in the left side, some sand and live rock rubble in the middle with the section going to the return with a sponge, carbon sponge, and filter floss. Then the main drain the left side then the emergency and second drain in the middle.

You need some kind of mechanical fire your drain. You can do an oversized pvc with floss and drill a bunch of holes near the bottom or a acrylic sock holder off Amazon then buy some cheap 200 micron socks.

Macro I'd run chaeto sandwiched between eggcrate. Depending on your display light power you may be able to get away with par30 5000k Phillip's led flood light from home depot. I'd try to stay as energy efficient as possible if you can. If you're running sps level high power leds then a 150w ufo grow light may be necessary.

Here's one ive ran with good success with 165w x2 display leds and about 12" away from chaeto.
