Hey guys,

Does the sump return pipe that’s inside the tank have to be glued... or just press fit?? I have a 120 gallon I’m going to set up... (go check out my build thread... [emoji6]) but does anyone know what I mean? I can explain more if needed... although I don’t know if I should use glue... or just press fit it? I’m not sure if the return pump will blow the elbow off the top... inside the tank??

Any advice??

Thank you so much :)

Here is a picture, hope that helps :) (maybe gives you some context lol)

Where would the water go if the slip fit connection separated? Is there a reason not to glue the connection?

Okay... thank you all so much. Instead of responding to each of you separately, I’ll just respond to all of you in this post. I do agree that it should be glued. I have a pretty strong return pump and don’t want that flying into the air. I was thinking about the pressure, and I don’t want it popping off into the air. That wouldn’t be so good.... lol. @mfinn, but no, it’s a return to the tank from the sump... and I’m using a pvc 90 because that’s what came with the tank. It seemed to make sense. It’s being attached to the return pipes from the sump. Hope that helps! :)
