Sump return question

Ok so I have a eshopps pf 300 hong on over flow rated for 300gph and my return is a mag 9.5 and I have PVC pluming for both and It dosent seem like I'm getting much flow my return has 2 45 degree elbows a check valve a ball valve and a ball valve the ball valve is over half open and I don't think it schould be that far with the pump I have and the overflow I have could my check valve be restricting it but when I open the valve up more my tank starts to over fill like the over flow can't take it what schould I do and here are some pics of my pluming

You should have a T off the return line going back to the sump instead of the valve being inline, it would be there. Thats how you fine tune a return.
A Mag 9.5 will have 685gph at 5' of head loss. Don't know how far your return is. Its 740gph at 3' of head loss. That pump is way to strong for your return pump, but you can fine tune it with branching off.

I got the stronger pump so I can branch off to run a brs duel Medea reactor in the future and my head hight is right around 4 feet

Then branch off now, and put your gate valve in there, that'll get you your fine tuning that you need until you get your other stuff.

Ok where would I branch of and schould I remove the ball valve and check valve

I'd remove the ball and check valves, yes. Just T off as the return starts out of the sump, branch it back into the sump, at the end put a gate valve.

Ok so just branch it off right where it comes out of the sump and put a gate or ball valve
