I just ordered a 190g 60x27x27 and I was planning on using a 40 breeders as a sump, is that too small?

Well I haven't built the stand yet but I wanted to leave enough room for the top off reservoir and dosing containers. With 60'' length and 27'' width I didnt want to put a 75 gallon under there because it would take up too much space. 36'' length seems like the right length, just not sure if the 40 breeder will cut it.
I would also consider how much back flow will happen on a power outage. You need to have a sump which can hold that water. So a 40 g sump might not be enough imo.
In my opinion refugiums are far over rated and a ATS of Bio-Pellets would work better and take less room.
Are you set on the sump needing to be under the stand? If not then go get one of those big 75 / 100 gallon rubber made totes. Cheaper route than building / buying a 90 gallon sump. This will give you the volume needed for the back flow.
