Sump size for 12 feet long tank!

I am rebooting my tank and thinking about the sump. Currently I have 2 75g tanks interconnected but these are plain vanilla tanks in which I put baffles etc. I am thinking pre filters as the sump area gets lot of gunk over time despite cleaning.

Tank size is 450g. Approx 12 ft length x 30 inch depth and 24 inch height.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Calculate back flow into the sump, water height and volume you want.

The world's your oyster when it comes to a sump. I made mine out of acrylic.
