I am looking to get a sum for my 45 cube. I am limited by cabinet space. The dimensions I have to work with are 22wx14dx30h. Was thinking of making my sump out of a tank but the 20 gallon tanks are to wide at 24". My other option is to buy a prebuilt sump system like a Aqueon model1. Would a model1 be big enough for the 45. I know bigger is better but it looks like my options are limited, besides custom, and them it get real pricey. What other options do I have with breaking the bank.

I have seen people use Rubbermaid bins for sumps before, and they work fine as well as being extremely cost effective. (hope that was somewhat helpful for you)

Well that is definitely a low budget solution. What about having dividers? I think I only need to have micron sock, skimmer, and return pump in the sump.

You could silicone in some dividers for sure, and could build or buy a sock holder that could go in too...just make sure that the top of the sock is a couple inches below the top of the sump.
