I have a 120 gallon display tank (I'm new to the hobby), I'm trying to decide on the brand and size for the sump tank. My display is in my living room, and the sump will be in the basement. I have plenty of room for the sump since I'm not putting it in the stand. I would like a sump with a refugium in it, any suggestions?
Thank you!

I have a 120 DT and use a 29 gallon tank for my sump. Placed 2 plexiglass baffles so that I have a skimmer compartment, a 12 inch refugium and the return compartment. Has worked great for my tank and cost less than $50

Thank You
The bigger you get the easier it will be. If you got a 30 gallon it would really only be an 10-12 extra gallons for your system which defeats the point of a sump/refugium. I would go at least a 55 gallon “tank” to build your sump so you have at least 20 gallons of water in it. If you have a ton of space I would go even bigger, like a 75 gallon so you have 30+ gallons of water in it. The extra water volume aids in your systems stability and extra refugium space gives more room for you to export nutrients naturally with macro algae, and the pods living in said algae also provides food for your fish.

Thank you for this information, very helpful. I want to buy one already built if I can.
