Sump turnover

What is everyone’s opinion on how much turnover you should have through your sump

3-4 times an hour is plenty

In tank, depending on what you are keeping is a different story

pardon my lack of knowledge, but isn't the sump turnover completely secondary to what you aim for your display tank through your return pump? i realise you can add additional power heads for the display tank, but in this case you'd only rely solely on your return pumps GPH?
