I'm planning to set up a 20H with a glass holes overflow with a 10g sump. Now my question is can it be done to run a HOB Skimmer on the sump? I may purchase an aquamaxx HOB-1 Skimmer.

Thanks for looking and all help :)

I don't have direct experience here but don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, if the skimmer and sump fit together in your space.

I currently have a CPR bak pak running on a 20L sump. It does work but my water level is too low, so I had to add some clear tubing to get the pump into the water. But when you lower the pump, it seems to lose valuable pressure needed to run correctly. It took a few tries to get the right length, but it will work. Next problem will be you may have to raise the 10g to accommodate the height of hob skimmer. Just some thoughts.

It will work. Just put tall and square container under the drain tube to bring the water level high in order for the skimmer pump to work. Otherwise the skimmer's pump will have hard time to get the water which will reduce its performance.
