I currently have synergy sump that works fine but one thing I don’t like about it is the top rim. It is quite wide and makes it more difficult to fit all of my equipment in the sump. So, I am considering a new sump that does not have a top rim. Something like 36x15x15. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I think they add the large rim for structural integrity then use a smaller gauge acrylic outside walls etc. shoot tenacor or Luna an email they build them

Have your LFS make you the sump you need to your specifications. Here's mine, build by a local tank maker.

£220 - dead cheap and does exactly what I need it to do!

Had the same issue on one of my tanks. Wanted a sump that completely filled under cabinet area so had to go custom. Was ~ $100usd in glass from local shop and a tube of caulk. If you have something specific in mind I would just build it yourself.

Looks cool. I’d be afraid to try that myself.

Really the worst that happens is you make a mess out of the silicone. Since it’s a sump that’s not even that critical. After a week fill it and leave it in the garage or outside. If it holds water for a few days you’re good to go.

How many gallons is your tank? I’m having the same scenario but I have a rimless 36 sump but thought about going with a 44 synergy just because of more sump space but it would take up my whole stand
