I just got a 180g 6x2x2 that plan on making sump out of it. How do I space the baffles? I will need a space for live rock and a skimmer. In which order do I put them? Thanks all.

What do you want the sump to do?

If it is for a reef tank, I would do a small skimmer section first, just as large as you need for your skimmer, then a large refugium to grow macro algea, then a small return section for your return pump. I would not do live rock in the sump.

With that large of a sump unless you are flowing thousands of gallons an hour you do not need any bubble traps just a single baffle to hold the water level even in your skimmer section, and an egg crate baffle to keep the macro algea out of the return pump.

The sump is going on my frag system, so there will be no liverock in the display and this is where I wanted to put it. There will be about +/-3000 gallons going thru it. The pump is Sequence dart rated at 4200g/h.
Thnaks.

I only use 2 baffles, the first is an "under" then an over. The height of the "over" determines the height of the water in the sump. I'll post some pictures tonight, I just glued in the baffles last night.
