So my existing dumps walls are moving the manufacturer has agreed to replace it. I was wandering if anyone has had to swap there sump and have any issues as far as water parameters get off or anything. Is about a 20 gal sump with Refugium.

It shouldn't be too big of a deal. Just like doing a water change however, does your refugium have a deep sand bed? That's the only issue I can think of. Good luck, sounds like a pain.

I replaced mine over the weekend. I have a lot of flow in my tank and a lot of live rock so my sump is just for equipment. it took most of sat to remove the old sump and plumbing and replumb the new one in then I waited 24 hrs to add water (mainly for fumes to disappear the glue bonds in mins) I put a Heater in my display and an reef octopus hob skimmer for sh#ts and giggles. fish and corals acted normal.

My sand bed is maybe inch and half or so.

Yeah I was sort wandering about how long i should wait for the glue to bond and run water through pipes.

If there is a lot of joints I'd wait at least a few hrs but with that lots of people have not waited at all with little issues but since I knew I could wait I did.

nothing fancy in my set up but words of advice put plenty of unions in it will help with maintenance and if you ever need to do this again. I can remove all my plumbing in under a minute
