I just got my new sump acrylic, it 44x20, I am wondering if I need to put something under it before I put it in my stand or if I can just put it direct on my stand?

The stand is all oak custom made and bottom is sealed. I know how had to shim the stand a fair amount because floors were uneven, so I worry bit about the sump as well.

Thanks

It is not required but I put down a rubber yoga mat as well. Additionally mine is sitting in an aluminum pan but I have seen people use pond liner. This way any leaks dont go directly on the floor and if you have any leak detection it might get caught before bad things happen.

Thanks for the info, where did you find the aluminum pan that would fit?

I strongly recommend using a piece of 1/2" styrofoam (like the sheathing they put on houses) under your sump.
Acrylic seams don't take much flex to stress, and there is no way your base is exactly on the same plane as the bottom of your sump.
I see some other people suggested yoga mats. Interesting, but the ones I have seen are very open cell and compress more than the 2lb density of the sheathing.
