Sump

Can you make the refugium in the same part as the return pump. I have a 3 divider sump, that goes intake / filter , protein skimmer and then return pump. Was wondering the best way to go about it?

chaeto in the same chamber as the return won’t be good. you’ll just suck up the chaeto to the DT.

my suggestion would be to have it in a basket of sorts in the skimmer chamber.


better yet, what skimmer do you have? have any pictures?

I do I haven’t set it up yet was waiting to see what’s the best way to set it up. I also have this extra sump if this would work better

with either sump you can get a basket and add the chaeto there. i believe the red sump is more manageable with separating everything

If i am seeing those pics right i would put the cheato on the right side of red sump where it looks like water first comes in. Then skimmer in middle. You dont really want skimmer and cheato in same section as the light causes algae buildup inside the skimmer.

Yeah I thought about that I just didn’t know because I’m the red one it’s comes in goes through a filter then comes out to the middle and that right side is basically all runs together in the middle didn’t know if it would do good over there or not
