Hello there

I want to build a new sump for my 160G tank. At the moment i am running an Bubble Magus NAC7 and after that a Fauna Marin Bio Pellet Reactor.
As this is the wrong direction and i am still having problems with nitrates i have bought a Vertex Alpha 200 and want to build a new sump - beside the main display-- sadly the stand from the display tank is not high enough to get everything in there..

Here you see my sump design based on research and knowledge so far.
I wanted to kindly ask you if i did something wrong (e.g. the waterlevel) and if i can do it better. The reason for placing the BioPellet Reactor is that it must be within the sump.. you can see the thing here: NPO Redu Pellets Filter inkl. steuerbare Pumpe 35 cm für Aquarien bis zu 1000 Liter Technik Reaktoren

Looking forward to your feedback.

Best Regards,

It looks very clean to me and you have it all covered from the sketch above! The only thing I might would change is the bio pellet reactor to one that is a recirculating model so you can control the flow through it and don't strip all phosphates/nitrates out of the water too quickly. After clicking on that link I don't think that one is a recirculating model but if it is just ignore my second comment!
Good luck with the build!

Very nicely planned out. My only comment is the height of the refugium to the return section.....that waterfall might cause air entrapment and bubbles being returned to the DT.

Thanks for your feedback. The FaunaMarin Pellet Reactor can only be controlled via the controllable sicce Pump, which regulates the tumbling and the flow. I can also retake some of the pellets if it is to much.
To be honest: i would kill for inserting separate nitrates in my tank if they where zero.

hey, thanks for your feedback. would you and others suggest to lower the overall waterlevel within the refuge? Or better max out the water level in the return section

IMO , max the return area up to the skimmer chamber height.
And you will still have plenty of extra room for drain back when shutting down the return pump.
