I love the water clarity in my systems. All it takes a few really simple steps, Skimmer (green thing) DIY Thanks Joey the DIY King, it really works too. Some bio media, I use Seachem Matrix. Bag of Activated carbon in sump and a bag of GFO. Then polyfil pillow stuffing for a mechanical to catch particlulates. I do not use Socks on this marine system. I have them on my 300 freshwater sump, but am going to eliminate them when I go salt. I know they are great, but I am to lazy to clean the socks every other day and they add a lot of ammonia back to the system because of my laziness. Plus with how my sump is set up, I do not need socks, at all I don't think. Don't laugh at my finnex titanium heater shield, it works and I will never admit the stupidity on my part that made that repair necessary ;p

Not too big and nothing special, but it gave me a place to move my skimmer and add a few more gallons with a refuge
